excuse me, but i love this song and video. i'm a huge fan of kanye, kid cudi and common. combine them and it's really an awesome thing.
great video with interesting visuals. having common in the video doesn't hurt. i think that man is so sexy. i saw him perform on a hip hop honors show for tribe called quest and i about melted. mom on fire! lol
i'm not a fan of lady gaga, but somehow the sampling of her song "poker face" works in here. in actuality, the lyrics are a bit filthy, but sometimes you just have to ignore them and dance.

forever young

i have always loved bob dylan. i've seen him several times live but stopped after a show in 2007 where he was almost inaudible. it was rather ridiculous. however, i will always love him and his music. he is the man.
one of my favorite songs of his is "forever young." i found THIS amazing children's book on amazon and have been giving it as a gift since.

memories of a boy

i love when i rediscover songs i had forgotten about. i was at my parents this weekend and forgot my ipod, so i borrowed my moms for a run. this song came on and i'd put it on a mix about three years ago. i'll post the mix as another post sometime.
anyway, the first time i heard this it was one of those songs that literally stopped me in my tracks. and then it was on the movie "the last kiss" and I LOVE THAT MOVIE AND SOUNDTRACK.
it really reminds me of a boy i knew in college. i think i always liked him more than he liked me.
anyway, it's called "paperweight" by joshua radin and schuyler fisk.

utero mix

it's only natural that my first post on my new blog is a listing of the first "mom" mix i made while pregnant with lucia. i listened to this mix almost every day and i still love it. probably because it brings back such great pregnancy memories.
i remember searching for "music for moms" and coming up with nothing much other than a few gross country songs. so i came up with my own stuff. why didn't i think of that first? i hope it serves as inspiration for you to burn some of these songs for your babies or your friends.
